Some Vermonters are in Scotland, but not for a vacation. They are there to race.
The Lake Champlain Maritime Museum Community Rowers are competing in Ullapool, Scotland, for the St. Ayles Skiff World Championship. The 13-member team has rowers from across New England competing in four-person boats called skiffies. They will row against 30 international teams in men's, women's and co-ed divisions. The competition is taking place this week.
Co-Executive Director Erick Tichonuk and rowing trainer and coxswain Ben Mayock share what it took for the club to reach this point.
