Proposed deal to close Moretown landfill

The state of Vermont and operators of the Moretown landfill have a proposed deal to close the dump.

Advance Disposal, the company that runs the landfill, will stop operating part of the landfill-- Cell 3-- by July 15 and address groundwater contamination and odor problems at the site.

The company may then apply to open and operate another part of the landfill-- Cell 4.
