BARRE, Vt. -- One of NASCAR's biggest stars grabbed the spotlight Thursday night at Thunder Road, but at the end of the night, it was one of Barre's own that took the checkered flag at the Vermont Governor's Cup 150.
NASCAR Sprint Cup star Clint Bowyer made his first visit to Thunder Road to compete in the Governor's Cup. He worked his way into the top ten late, but a flat tire with 26 laps to go ended Bowyer's night. He finished 23rd.
Out front, it was Barre's Cody Blake ending a five year winless streak as Blake held off Nick Sweet and Derrick O'Donnell for the victory.
In the night's other feature races, South Barre's Randy Gonyaw won the Tiger Sportsman, while Greg Adams of Hardwick took the checkers in the Street Stocks
