Pieces of history roll into Waterbury

Posted: Updated:
WATERBURY, Vt. -

Some pieces of history are now parked in Waterbury for public viewing.

The Green Mountain Military Vehicle Club is hosting its annual show. It features about 25 different vehicles used in military conflicts from World War II right up through the War in Iraq.

Club members say the event is more than 20 years old and is a great way for people to appreciate the military then and now.

"It is about the history and when you think about it, there's not many more of these vehicles left. Some of the vehicles the government won't release anymore and the ones we have to preserve are very important," said Lawrence Thurber, the president of the Green Mountain Military Vehicle Club.

The event runs through Saturday. The three-day event costs $3 a person or $5 a family and is open for visits from sunrise to sunset. Click here for more information.
