Upper Valley fundraiser brings in over $2M

It's a record-breaking year for the Prouty-- an annual fundraiser for cancer research in the Upper Valley.

This year, bike riders jammed out to the music at a rest stop in Bradford. Most participants come out to ride but participants can also walk, row and golf to raise money. This year, more than 5,800 people came out to show their support.

"My mother-in-law just died of lung cancer as well as other relatives and friends, and it is a great cause. I work at the hospital. Great exercise for a great cause," says Patricia Lanter-Dufty of Norwich.

Saturday's event raised $2.6 million. That money goes to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center. This was the Prouty's 32nd year.
