This weekend at St, Albans Bay Park, the 6th Annual Danny Pion Wiffleball Tournament swinging into gear.
16 teams from around the state coming together to take part in the charity tournament put together by Swanton's Danny Pion and his good friend Mike Conger.
Pion was a standout baseball player in Vermont before suffering a spinal cord injury in 2008, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down.
While some would find pity in a life-changing accident, Pion found strength. Combining his love of sports with a way to make a different.
Continuing to grow each year in existence, he believes the fundraiser is set to hit the $10,000-dollar mark for the first time in 2013. All the proceeds raised go to benefit the Travis Roy Foundation.
