BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - More than 200 kids in Vermont's largest city are set to take part in the launch of a summer reading program.
The Children's Literacy Foundation's Summer Readers program comes to the Sustainability Academy at Burlington's Lawrence Barnes school for a story-telling presentation, followed by an opportunity for each kid to select two new books.
Organizers say a big aim of the program is to keep up kids' literacy skills during the summer months away from school.
The program kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
