Vermont has a serious shortage of guardians ad litem.
The guardians are volunteers who advocate on behalf of children in the court system, many of whom are abused or neglected. There are currently 280 guardians ad litem in Vermont, but many more are needed.
Mary Hayden and Bruce Scott join Mike McCune in a discussion on the importance of these guardians.
Hayden runs the guardian ad litem program in Vermont. Meanwhile, Bruce Scott has been a guardian ad litem for the last 20 years and works in Franklin and Grand Isle counties.
