DRESDEN, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities are crediting a teenage boy from Albany with saving the life of an 82-year-old man who had fallen into an Adirondack lake.

State police tell The Post-Star of Glens Falls that 82-year-old George Gates fell off a rock Monday afternoon along Lake George's eastern shore in the Washington County town of Dresden, 60 miles north of Albany.

Troopers say Max Ceroski, who is vacationing in the area, was nearby when people began calling for help. He ran to the spot where Gates fell into the lake and saw him underwater. Police say the teen went into the water and pulled him out.

Volunteer firefighters and bystanders resuscitated Gates, who was taken to Glens Falls Hospital. Information on his condition wasn't available.
