Prostitution charges dropped in Bennington spa case

Posted: Updated:

Prosecutors are dropping charges against a Bennington spa owner suspected of running a prostitution operation out of the business.

Authorities searched two massage parlors in Bennington this spring-- the Cozy Spa on North Street and the Green Spa on Main Street. They were looking for evidence of prostitution and human trafficking.

Cozy Spa owner Young Shin was cited into court. But now state's attorney Erika Marthage tells the Bennington Banner the state's prostitution statute refers to sexual intercourse and police only have evidence of sexual touching.
