WOODSTOCK, Vt. (AP) - Police in the Vermont town of Woodstock say a hotel bookkeeper has turned herself in on embezzlement charges.
Woodstock police say this spring, The Shire Riverview motel reported that they suspected 56-year-old Pamela Smith had embezzlement money from the business between June of 2007 and April of 2013.
Authorities say the investigation showed that Smith, of Woodstock, had taken more than $200,000 from the business in the form of checks, cash and electronic transfers.
Police say Smith turned herself in last week. The Windsor County public defender's office did not know if she was being represented by an attorney. Smith could not be reached for comment.
