Vt. bookkeeper denies embezzlement charges

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -

A motel bookkeeper on Thursday denied embezzlement and forgery charges.

Woodstock police say Pamela Smith, 56, stole over $200,000 from the Shire Riverview motel.

Police say Smith stole cash, forged checks and made electronic transfers from motel accounts over a six-year period.
