Vermont's Department of Education is hopeful parents will tune in while school is out.
The department is reaching out to families with a program called "Education: Join the Conversation." The television and web series is answering questions about issues currently impacting Vermont schools and students. Recent topics include the common core, student assessments and summer reading efforts.
"This was an easy way for parents, teachers, community members, our elected officials to learn more about what's happening in education from the comfort of their home," Vt. Education Secretary Armando Vilaseca said.
