COLCHESTER, Vt. (AP) - The town of Colchester, Vt., has a new police chief - only the third in the town's history.
Jennifer Morrison, a 23-year police veteran, was sworn in Monday. The Burlington Free Press reports that she replaces Chief Charles Kirker, who had been chief for 34 years. Kirker took over for Ron Smith, who was named chief when the department was created in the mid 1960s.
Morrison previously servied as deputy chief of the Burlington Police Department. Town officials say she will bring new ideas and energy to her new position.
