Be safe on the road. That's the message to Burlington pedestrians, bikers and drivers.
Local Motion and Burlington Police are once again working to improve safety on city streets and sidewalks. They'll be out making sure residents traveling by car or foot are staying alert. They are also asking bikers to stay visible.
"You have to use lights at night on your bike here in Burlington -- it's a city ordinance. stopping for stop signs, signaling your turns -- all that kind of stuff -- so that your riding by the rules and people know what you're going to do," said Local Motion's Jason Van Driesche.
Local Motion and police will be patrolling throughout downtown to make sure residents are playing it safe on the roads. They will also have stencils drawn at crosswalks throughout the city to provide safety tips for bikers and pedestrians.
