This week, we're in Underhill with members of the Underhill Little League. Underhill little league is made up of just over 100 boys and girls, ages 4-12 along with many energetic volunteers. Located at the base of Mt. Mansfield, win or lose, the players in this league have one heck of a view.
Simon, an 11-year-old pitcher asks: "How you improve your pitching speed?"
Pitching coach Craig Lefferts: "The first thing a pitcher will learn is to have proper mechanics. To do that you need to learn to balance over the rubber, to have proper direction to step with your front side to your target and then you want to finish through the ball, right through the catcher's glove."
Mallory, a 6-year-old shortstop asks: "What's your favorite part about Centennial Field?"
Outfielder Xavier Macklin: "My favorite part of Centennial is probably the scoreboard, because it shows the fans interacting with Champ and everything. I think that's pretty cool. It shows everybody's picture and stats. It just livens the game up just a little bit more."
Ben, an 11-year-old shortstop asks: "How do you keep yourself calm in a big situation?"
Infielder Ryon Healy: "My big thing with keeping calm in a pressure situation is to control my breathing and stay in the moment. The crowd gets very loud and sometimes you can get lost in the moment, but if you stay in the moment, enjoy every process you go through, you'll really come through clutch in a pressure situation for your team."
