RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont man has been sentenced to more than five years in prison on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Court documents say Rutland police were called to an apartment for a domestic disturbance in March 2012. They found a loaded .22-caliber pistol in the apartment and later arrested 32-year-old Steven McAuley. He was charged in state court with assault and pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic assault.
The Rutland Herald reports McAuley was indicted on the gun charge in September.
