SHELBURNE, Vt. -

Visitors Sunday came out to celebrate the newest addition to the Shelburne Museum.

Live music and events welcomed guests to the grand opening day of The Pizzagalli Center for Art and Education. The project to build the new center began five years ago. Organizers say the Center will offer educational exhibits and will also be open year round.

"As we move into the 21st century we know that creative thinking is all important, and what Shelburne Museum does is it engenders creative thinking, so we know that young people will come out of the classroom, come here and have a much broader sense of the world when they leave," said the museum's Tom Denenberg.

Museum members and children under five are welcome to visit the exhibition free of charge.
