CASTLETON, Vt. (AP) - A seven-hour-plus search for a missing 73-year-old Vermont man has reached a happy ending.
Police said George Somner Jr. went missing from his home at the Crampton Trailer Park in Castleton at about 1 p.m. Sunday.
The family had been searching for him about two hours before contacting police. They said Somner had health issues that were a concern, including difficulty walking.
Searchers included members of police and fire departments from Fair Haven and Poultney, as well as state police and fish and wildlife officials.
Police said an acquaintance of Somner's found him on Route 30 at Crystal Beach Park at about 6:30 p.m. and brought him back. Somner was in good health and did not require medical attention.
