If you have a blue inspection sticker on your windshield there's a good chance it's peeling off.
After receiving numerous complaints of the inspection stickers coming off, the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles says the manufacturer admitted to sending a bad batch with faulty adhesive.
DMV Commissioner Robert Ide says a fix is in the works, but in the meantime, a little Scotch tape will have to do the trick.
"Absolutely there's an adhesive problem. It's a manufacturer's problem and we've been notified of it, and working with the manufacturer we have some new sleeves coming that can go over the sticker to reattach them to windshields. If they're coming off they should attach them any way they can to keep them in place, but we're very aware and we've been working on it," Ide said.
Ide says it's a fine balance. The stickers need to be fragile so that they come apart if removed illegally, but they also need to be robust enough to stay on or be swapped by a glass replacement specialist.
The replacement adhesive sleeves should be available from any DMV office by next month.
