Police respond to possible live grenade in Morrisville

MORRISVILLE, Vt. -

Morristown police shut down a portion of Route 15 and evacuated the Morrisville Shopping Plaza Wednesay night after finding a hand grenade.

A McDonald's employee noticed the grenade in the drive through lane around 9:30 p.m. and called police. Police say it was badly corroded and they were not sure whether it was active. The state police bomb squad was called in to help remove it.

Now, they will take a look at surveillance video of the parking lot to try to find out who put it there.
