Moretown officials will discuss landfill closure

Posted: Updated:
MORETOWN, Vt. -

Moretown and state officials will meet Friday to discuss why they shut down the landfill.

The Agency of Natural Resources denied the landfill recertification, so it closed last month. Since then, trash dumping on town land has become a problem.

This meeting is meant to give the town a better understanding of the settlement. Landfill owners have indicated they have plans to open a new portion of the landfill.
