An iconic covered bridge across the Connecticut River is getting a facelift.
The Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge is one of the longest covered bridges in the United States. Starting the week of September 9th, the two- lane bridge will be reduced to a single lane for repairs. They are expected to take up to eight weeks for the improvements to be complete.
The 449 foot-long wooden covered bridge was originally built in 1866 and was rebuilt in 1989.
