The ride on Route 2 could get a bit bumpier for drivers.
The Vermont Agency of Transportation plans to install rumble strips in the centerline between Alburgh and Colchester to cut down on crashes.
This comes just a week after the agency removed rumble strips in Cambridge because they weren't installed properly and residents complained about the noise.
So far the strips are used on 80 miles of Vermont highways, and another 50 are being added in other parts of the state.
VTrans says the strips cut down on crashes by 18 percent, alerting drivers if they're crossing into the oncoming lane.
