SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Four men responsible for trying to pass counterfeit cash in South Burlington have been sentenced.

The group from New York City pleaded guilty to their roles in using the fake money at several businesses along Shelburne Road back in October.

Lateek Cargo and Daniel Hyacinthe were sentenced to time served plus periods of home confinement. Malik Delima and Larry Galbreith were both sentences to a year and a day in prison.

All the men will also serve one year of supervised release and together will have to pay $1,000 in restitution.

Authorities say the men bleached five-dollar bills and used a printer to make them look like 100-dollar bills.
