BETHLEHEM, N.H. (AP) - A woman who injured her hip while hiking on Zealand Falls Trail has been rescued.

Sgt. Brian Suttmeier of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department says 73-year-old Anne Batterson of Canton, Conn., slipped and fell near the falls around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday while hiking with her family. He says she injured her left hip and was unable to walk.

Conservation officers from the Fish and Game Department were assisted by members of the U.S. Forest Service, the Appalachian Mountain Club and the Pemigewasset Valley Search and Rescue Team. It took them about seven hours to reach the woman and carry her down in a litter.
