State Police ordered the evacuation of the the Morristown Police Department when they had a grenade scare while searching a car.
The bomb squad was called in to deal with what appeared to be a hand grenade in a car parked outside the police department. Police say they were in the process of searching the car for evidence when they also found what appeared to be a gun and notes threatening to use the weapons.
The grenade turned out to be a dummy. And the gun turned out to be an air gun.
This comes just two weeks after a live hand grenade was discovered in the drive-thru of the Morrisville McDonalds.
Police say at this point they do not believe the two cases are related.
