A sex offender stole a soldier's identity to get free health care and to avoid the sex offender registry.
David Oswald, 47, lived in Vermont for six years as Bobby Lee Triplett, an Army vet from North Carolina. And federal prosecutors say he got $50,000 worth of care for a heart attack by posing as Sgt. Triplett and billing the VA.
The scheme unraveled when the real Sgt. Triplett returned from his fourth deployment in the Middle East. When police busted Oswald, he had a slew of weapons and child pornography. He got more than 11 years in jail and has to pay back the government for his hospital bills.
