BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A University of Vermont student who was found dead in a pool last month drowned accidentally from acute alcohol intoxication. That was the word Friday from the medical examiner's office.

Police say Derek Schueler, 21, and a group of friends broke into the Burlington Tennis Club in South Burlington in August. Shortly after, one of the friends called 911 to report they found Schueler face down in the pool. Despite efforts to revive him, Schueler was pronounced dead at the hospital.
