Police are warning of possible gas explosions following a series of copper thefts in the Northeast Kingdom.

Authorities say the heists are happening at remote camps in Lemington, Bloomfield and Maidstone. They say burglars are going after copper tubing tied to water and gas lines and that once cut the potential for injury and fire is high.

Anyone with any information about the thefts should call the Vt. State Police.
