ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - Train rides to view Vermont's fall foliage are going to be offered during the Colors of the Kingdom Festival in St. Johnsbury.
The trip south of St. Johnsbury will be on the tracks of the Connecticut and Passumpsic Railroad. The route is along the Connecticut and Passumpsic rivers and cuts through rock ledges and crosses many bridges.
On Saturday, Sept. 21, a locomotive and four antique coaches will depart from the St. Johnsbury train depot and head south for what is being called one of the most beautiful train rides in New England.
The Caledonian Record reports the rides will begin at 9 a.m. and be repeated at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m.
The festival also includes an arts and crafts fair, farmers market, parade, and music events.
