Several US Forest Service members from our region are heading west to help fight wildfires.
Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forest has groups heading to the western United States. They will assist firefighters from across the country in battling wildfires plaguing states like Alaska, California, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Washington.
They represent a variety of response teams from career wild-land firefighters to volunteer firefighters and other related Forest Service positions. Each member is trained to help combat and contain fires.
