BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A North Adams, Mass., man suspected of driving the car of an elderly woman found slain in her home has been arrested in Vermont and is expected to be extradited back to Massachusetts within seven days.

David A. Delratez, 41, appeared in court in Bennington Friday on a fugitive from justice charge.

A police affidavit says he is wanted on a probation violation in Massachusetts for a prior assault.

A car registered to 84-year-old Ellen DePaoli was found Thursday afternoon in Bennington.

DePaoli was found dead in her home at about 8 p.m. Tuesday.

An autopsy determined that the woman's death was a homicide, but authorities have not released a cause of death. The Bennington Banner reports that police say Delratez is a "person of interest" in an investigation.
