BARRE, Vt. (AP) - Police in Vermont have arrested two men in connection with home burglaries in Montpelier and Barre.
Police said they have recovered stolen property from the homes, as well as illegal drugs and several handguns.
They arrested 29-year-old Donald Lowe of Montpelier on charges of burglary and possession of stolen property Sunday.
Several hours later, search warrants issued in Barre led to the arrest of 20-year-old Jonathan Welch of Barre Town on similar charges. Police said Welch was on escape status from the Vermont Department of Corrections when he was allegedly involved in the recent Montpelier burglaries.
It wasn't immediately known whether Lowe or Welch had lawyers.
