Construction crews broke ground on King Arthur Flour's new facility in White River Junction Monday.
The new warehouse and manufacturing building is next to the company's current manufacturing operation. The facility will accommodate 30 current full and part-time employees and will allow the addition of about five employees over the next couple of years.
"We have been growing in the last couple of years, both in terms of our manufacturing needs and our distribution needs in the warehouse, and so to make room for both things we are putting together this new facility," said King Arthur's Mark Tecca.
The estimated price tag is $4 million -- part of that coming from a Vermont Economic Development Authority grant. The new building should be ready by early next year.
