LYME, N.H. -

A car went off the road into a pond in Lyme, N.H. Wednesday morning.

Witnesses called 911 around 10:30 a.m. after they spotted the vehicle upside-down in Post Pond just off Route 10 in Lyme. The single occupant was pulled from the vehicle and given CPR.

Police say at this time it does not appear that any other cars were involved in the crash. The investigation is continuing.

"The vehicle left the roadway once and then came back on the roadway and left again. We are not sure why that occurred," Lyme Police Chief Shaun O'Keefe said.

Police have not released the victim's name. Police say he was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
