BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -

The case of a nursing home employee accused of killing a patient is coming to a close in Windham County.

Jodi LaClaire, 37, of Bennington, N.H., is charged with second-degree murder for the death of Nita Lowery, 83.

Prosecutors say LaClaire injected Lowery with insulin at the Thompson House in Brattleboro, which caused Lowery's death. Investigators also found evidence that LaClaire tried to withdraw money from Lowery's bank account.

After two weeks of testimony, the case went to the jury Friday afternoon.
