A Barre gallery is hoping a unique fundraiser with feathers will get people to flock together for some fun. Studio Place Arts is hosting bingo with chickens.
Artists decorated big bingo boards that will go into chicken pens. The winning square is where the chicken decides to go to the bathroom.
The nonprofit arts center will get 50 percent of the night's take.
Between bingo rounds there will be a live bluegrass band, studio tours and activities for kids.
Organizers say it's an unusual and unpretentious fundraiser.
"I think most people are just kind of laughing. There is some sort of reference here apparently there was cow plop bingo at some point, but we are definitely charting a new and rarified course here with chicken bingo," said Sue Higby, the executive director of SPA. "The art is not finished until the chicken leave its mark on the work of art that the artist is contributing... SPA will be selling the finished works of art after the chicken finishes its activities."
