The federal government
is shutdown. Much of the debate is over Obamacare which takes effect Oct. 1,
however in the aftermath of this standoff, national parks are now closed.
Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park in Woodstock is one of
them. The park's superintendent, Christina Marts, spent the last few days
warning schools and tourists of this possibility.
Marts said this month is a busy time especially for school visits. The
park gets almost 20,000 visitors during the month of October. The park
employs 26 people who will not be at work Oct. 1.
