Brattleboro Housing Authority plans to rebuild damaged apartments

Posted: Updated:
BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -

Brattleboro is working on replacing homes damaged by Tropical Storm Irene. The town's housing authority is planning 55 new apartments to replace damaged ones.

This will go toward the 80 damaged units at Melrose Terrace apartment complex. This complex caters to housing elderly or disabled residents. Those residents were evacuated during the storm. They then returned to the apartments shortly after, but were again displaced because the complex is in a flood hazard area.
