Vt. drug murder case goes to jury

RUTLAND, Vt. -

The Frank Caraballo murder case is now in the hands of the jury.

Caraballo is charged with the execution-style murder of Melissa Barratt in Dummerston two years ago.

Prosecutors say Caraballo was running a fast-growing drug network in Brattleboro, and he believed Barratt had stolen $10,000 from him.

Prosecutors say phone records and witness testimony prove beyond reasonable doubt that Caraballo pulled the trigger.

But the defense says the case has a lack of forensic evidence, and questions the credibility of many key witnesses.
