NORTHFIELD, Vt. (AP) - People are going to be able to learn a bit about the science of going fast at a free lecture hosted by Vermont's Norwich University.
On Oct. 9 there will be a free lecture by a woman who has written about on the scientific principles behind NASCAR racing.
Norwich will be presenting a lecture by Diandra Leslie-Pelecky on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at its Northfield campus.
Leslie-Pelecky is the author of "The Physics of NASCAR." Her talk will be called "The Science of Speed: Faster, Stronger and Safer."
The talk is being presented by Norwich and the Vermont chapter of the international scientific honor society, Sigma Xi.
Leslie-Pelecky will also join Vermont Lt. Gov Phil Scott, who races stock cars, on a radio call-in show.
