Police: Burglar busted by DNA

Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND, Vt. -

Police say a burglar who cut himself and left blood behind has been caught, thanks to DNA testing.

Investigators say John White, 25, of South Burlington, smashed his way into the Kitchen Table Bistro in Richmond last summer. He allegedly took the cash register, worth $1,200, but there was no money in it.

Police got a DNA match nearly 15 months after the break-in and White was arrested.
