HARTS LOCATION, N.H. (AP) - A 55-year-old man has been rescued from Mount Washington after slipping on a rock and injuring his leg.

The new Hampshire Fish and Game Department says Steve Litwin of Brooklyn, N.Y., was hiking with friends when he fell around noon Wednesday on the Webster-Jackson trail near Crawford Notch State Park in Harts Location. A team of rescuers reached him and carried him from the site about six hours later.

Litwin was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
