Some ideas for what to do on Sunday, October 6, 2013:
Today marks day two of the annual weekend long Pumpkin and Apple Celebration at Billings Farm and Museum in Woodstock. Hands on activities allow kids and adults to join in the process of hand pressing cider, making pumpkin or apple ice cream and peeling apples for drying. The event highlights the historical importance and many uses of these two important crops.
The Marshfield Harvest Festival --- at the Public Library ---- includes popcorn popping, cider pressing, face painting and even a petting zoo.. And there's live music too! 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
BALKAN FOLK DANCING
Put on your dancing shoes from 4p.m. - 7p.m. for some Balkan Folk Dancing with Louise Brill and Larry Gordon in Burlington's North End.
APPLE & HARVEST FESTIVAL
Tour the historic grounds of Justin Morrill Homestead in Strafford at the 19th Century Apple & Harvest Festival today from 11 am to 3pm.
MOUNT ZION HIKE
If you feel like a hike, head to Hubbardton where Site interpreter Carl Fuller leads a foliage trek culminating in views of the Hubbardton Battlefield and surrounding mountains. Kids get to take part for free. 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
