Waterbury man cited for firing gun downtown

Posted: Updated:

A Waterbury Center man is facing disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment charges after police say he fired a gun near the TD Bank in Waterbury Sunday.

Police say the altercation started at a nearby restaurant, when John Baran, 42, threatened another customer. Police say Baran left the Prohibition Pig, returning five minutes later with a gun.  When the customer did not come outside, police say Baran fired the gun into the air.  No one was injured in the incident.
