An overturned sailboat sent rescue crews into St. Alban's Town Bay Monday morning.
The sailor on board made it to the shore on her own, but her husband did not know that. When he saw the flipped boat he called 911 and hit the water in a rowboat to look for her. First responders were able to help him and the sailboat back to dry land. The woman involved is okay.
"She's an experienced sailboat operator, but I guess when she went out this morning the winds weren't quite as heavy and then they came up when she was out on the water," said St. Albans Town Fire Capt. Jason Bonnett.
First responders are reminding boaters to be careful and that conditions can become dangerous when the wind picks up.
