Although the weather has turned a bit chilly over the past week, we still have plenty of ways for you to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage this Columbus Day weekend.
BILLINGS FARM HARVEST WEEKEND
The Billings Farm & Museum in Woodstock hosts it's the 29th annual Harvest Weekend today and tomorrow, featuring the traditional husking bee at noon. Voted a top 10 event of the fall 2013 season by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, this event is a must for the whole family! Make ice cream and butter, enjoy apples on a string, play 19th century games, learn about harvesting and sip on hot-spiced cider while you enjoy homemade doughnuts. And be sure to bring your dancing partner for the Barn Dance at 1p.m.

STOWE ART & CRAFT FESTIVAL
The 26th annual Stowe Foliage Art and Craft Festival, Northern Vermont's largest Art & Craft Festival, returns this year bringing in over 150 artists show-casing pottery, jewelry and blown glass. Presented by Long Trail Brewing Co., the event is one for the whole family, complete with live music and local food.

FALL FESTIVAL & CRAFTS
Join the Birds of Vermont Museum as they host a true celebration of fall, complete with apples and cider, at the Fall Festival & Arts & Crafts Open House in Huntington today. Green Mountain Woodcarvers will host their monthly Carve-In at today's event, which also includes soap carving, face painting, pumpkin decorating, an outdoor scavenger hunt, raffle and silent auction and even a lesson on bird watching.

ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW
The Wooden Horse Arts Guild Village Arts & Crafts Show in North Troy this weekend features local area artists show-casing their hand crafted work. Fine art such as photography, oil paintings and collages as well as stained glass, hand crafted jewelry, carved antlers and leather goods will be on display. There are even handmade wooden toys and fleece outer garments for the kids!

Bring the kids out to the Highgate Tractor Day at the town's Public Library this weekend. The day features themed stories, crafts and lots of big tractors.

The Model Engineering Show is an October tradition in the Upper Valley with the opportunity to see some of New England's best model engineers with their fine craftsmanship and engineering excellence. Ethan Allen Homestead Museum, Burlington, VT
Legend has it that Ethan Allen and his brother Ira argued over who was the better woodsman, they settled the matter by having a race from Bennington to Burlington. Ethan, being big and burly, barreled straight through all natural obstacles. Ira, using his woodsmen skills used a longer, but more developed route. Reportedly they both arrived at the same time and celebrated their tie together. Come to the Ethan Allen Homestead Museum on Saturday, October 12th from 10 a.m.- 4p.m. to learn some of the skills that Ethan and Ira would have needed. This event is much more than demonstrations, all participants will get an opportunity to actually perform various tasks like lighting a fire using flint and steel, land navigation, military skills, finding resources on the land, and much more! In addition to a whole lot of educational fun, all participants will win a prize!
