We have some ideas for what to do on 10/13/13:


The Dummerston Apple Pie Festival will be held on Sunday, October 13,2013  on the Common in Dummerston Center, Vermont.   Sponsored by the Dummerston Congregational Church, the Evening Star Grange and the West Dummerston Fire Department it is an all day affair.

Features are: the church 1500 apple pies, sold whole or by the piece accompanied by Vermont cheddar cheese, homemade ice cream, hot and cold cider, coffee and fresh donuts.  On the church lawn under a tent the sale starts at 10:00 am until sold out.

Fireman's Breakfast is in the adjacent firehouse  7:00 -11:00 am and the Evening Star Grange juried craft fair at the Grange Hall also on the Common from 9:30 am until 4:00pm.

Rain or shine, all under cover.  Ample free parking, all handicapped accessible.  Motorcyclists welcome with special parking space.


Local dairy farm Kayhart Brothers Dairy in West Addison, Vermont is one of 48 dairy farms across New York and New England taking part in Cabot Creamery Cooperative's "Open Farm Sunday" today. For just the third time ever, farm families from across the region are opening up their gates to encourage people to meet the farmers, animals and learn about the farms. Almost 50 farms will participate in Cabot Cooperative's "Open Farm Sunday."  They will be open to the public on Sunday, October 13 from 11AM to 2PM.  We encourage you viewers to come meet the people (and animals) who are responsible for the "World's Best Cheddar."

East Thetford, VT—Celebrate the bounty of autumn and everything pumpkin at Cedar Circle Farm & Education Center's 11th annual fall festival. 4th Annual Champlain Valley Buddy Walk Sunday Oct. 13

The 4th Annual Champlain Valley Buddy Walk® will take place at Burlington's Battery Park on Sunday, October 13, starting at noon. More than 250 people are expected to attend the event, which is one of over 250 Walks across the country this fall to raise awareness and funds for programs that benefit people with Down syndrome and their families.

The Champlain Valley Buddy Walk will begin with a Welcome and Opening Remarks at noon followed by the Walk at 1 pm. The route will go through the downtown business district and up Church Street before returning to the park by 2 pm. Those who have a child with Down syndrome or who have known a person with Down syndrome or want to simply support their friends and neighbors are welcome to join the Buddy Walk.

The registration fee is $10 per individual and family registration will not exceed $50. Buddy Walk tee-shirts are available to early registrants. Refreshments and food will be provided by Starbucks and Subway/Williston. To register, please visit, http://tinyurl.com/buddywalkCVDSG.


The Champlain Orchards in Shoreham is hosting a HarvestFest today, complete with a harvest feast. The Bondville Boys will be bringing bluegrass tunes to the festival which features apple picking, cider tasting and the much anticipated feast of local food.

Sunday October 13 11am-4pm, free to attend, $6-$12 for dinner


Get active this Sunday morning at the Harpoon Octoberfest Road Race at the Harpoon Brewery in Windsor. Enjoy beer, bratwurst, and live Oompah music after completing the 3.6 mile course. All proceeds go to the Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center.

Today is the day to pick out your Halloween pumpkins! The Cedar Circle Farm hosts the 11th annual Pumpkin Festival today in East Thetford, featuring horse drawn wagon rides to and from the pumpkin patch and corn palace. Enjoy local farmstand food vendors, face painting, storytelling, live music and more with the whole family!

Join the city of Burlington for their Harvest Party tonight at the Ethan Allen Homestead pavillion. Celebrating Eat Local Week, all guests are encouraged to bring a pot luck dish. The event includes a corn roast, smoothie bikes, games and music.

Antique and modern farm vehicles take to the streets in the town of East Charlotte today as it hosts its 13th annual Tractor Parade. The day of festivities also includes a farmers market, hayrides, kids games, food, music and more. Sunday october 13 11am - 5pm
