Adirondack Scenic Railroad line damaged

Posted: Updated:
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. -

The train that operates the Adirondack Scenic Railroad has been so badly damaged it is out of service.

The railroad runs between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake.

Railroad officials say wires were pulled out, cut and then placed back into a cabinet last week.

They call the $50,000 worth of damage deliberate.

The Federal Railway Administration is expected to launch an investigation.
